| Bio | As a graduate student, dr. losada studied hydrogen-bond intermolecular interactions in aqueous clusters. he used both laser spectroscopy and ab-initio electronic structure calculations to elucidate their structural and spectral features. after receiving his ph.d., he joined the department of chemistry at the university of alberta in edmonton-canada, where he worked on infrared and vibrational circular diochroism (vcd) spectroscopy combined with computational techniques for studying the structure and solvation of chiral molecules in aqueous solution. his research has ranged from the computation of molecular properties using correlated wave functions to the elucidation of reaction paths governing the aluminum-teflon combustion process. |
